Daniel Welch of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania died Saturday, July 16, 2016 peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was 60 years old.  Daniel was born December 31, 1955 in Fort Benning, Alabama, son of the late Wilford Welch and the late June Welch (nee - Ferrin).  He is the beloved husband of Sharon; father of Sarah; brother of Ernest Welch and his wife Sherri, the late June Mullin, the late David Welch, and the late Douglas Welch.

Though Dan was born in Fort Benning, his family’s military lifestyle led him to be raised in a variety of towns and on different bases. This early exposure to folks from all walks of life would help to ensure that he grew into a confident, gregarious, and friendly young man. His outgoing personality translated well into being a talented salesman during his working years. Dan’s nature also led him to meet the love of his life, Sharon Bruno, on the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore. The couple were smitten and wed on November 2, 1985. Their family continued to blossom when they welcomed their daughter Sarah, their most precious gift, into the world in 1996. Two of Dan's greatest loves were family and a good home-cooked meal. He could always be found in the kitchen or at the grill making some of his family recipes come to life. In his free time, Dan immensely enjoyed the outdoors where he could be found tending the garden, enjoying the company of his dogs, and especially fishing, whether it be in fresh or salt water. Dan also loved sports, consistently rooting for all of the Florida teams. Throughout his life, Dan most enjoyed spending time with those he loved, playing games, laughing, and telling stories.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 11:00 A.M. and memorial service at 12:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.

Donations may be made in his memory to preserve our National Parks through The National Park Trust, 401 East Jefferson Street, Suite 203, Rockville, MD 20850 www.parktrust.org.
