Robert Jens Ream, 96, of Quarryville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community. Born on July 30, 1929, in Wormleysburg, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Robert Leroy Ream and Freda Marie Ream (née Clausen). Robert was the beloved husband of Shirley Ann Ream (née Donbaugh). He was a devoted father to the late Calvin R. Ream and a caring brother to Nancy Derk. He is survived by nieces, Elizabeth Plant (Bill) and Jennifer Gallagher (Frank) and by a great niece and three great nephews who all adored him.
A lifelong learner and dedicated educator, Robert graduated from Susquehanna Township High School and went on to earn degrees from Elizabethtown College, Faith Theological Seminary, and Dropsie College for Hebrew and Cognate Learning. He devoted 36 years of his life to teaching, shaping the lives of countless students. In addition to his work in the classroom, he faithfully served as a board member at Phil-Mont Christian Academy.
Services will be private at the family request.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Phil-Mont Christian Academy, 35 Hillcrest Avenue, Erdenheim, PA 19038 or Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 734 Willow Grove Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038.
