The family has lovingly composed the following obituary:

Edna Lucille (Lindley) Harrell, age 97, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2018 while in the care of her daughter, Jane. She was predeceased by her husband, John T. Harrell who died September 18, 1991. They were married on May 8, 1948 at New Egypt Methodist Church in New Jersey.   

Lucille was born May 21, 1920 in Providence, RI to the late Granville and Edna (Lofthouse) Lindley. She graduated from the Springfield Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, MA. Commissioned in the Army Nurse Corp. as a 1st Lt., serving during World War II, she was further trained in psychiatric nursing. She later served as a reservist and received an honorable discharge on April 1, 1953.

She moved to Willow Grove in 1951. After her children were grown, she returned to nursing and received her Pennsylvania Board Certification. She worked as the head nurse on third shift at Christ Home in Warminster until her retirement. She faithfully attended Willow Grove Bible Church. Lucille was known for her quick wit and her amazing tenacity in doing the daily crossword puzzle.

She is survived by her son John and wife Sandra of Telford, her daughter Jane Piper of Lewistown, and her son Joseph of Willow Grove. She is survived also by six grandchildren, Meredith (Harrell) Richard and husband Matthew of Pottstown, Kathrin (Harrell) Bianchini and husband Nicholas of Telford, Casey Harrell of Horsham, Joseph Harrell of State College, Emily (Piper) Hartzler and her husband David of Lewistown,  and Joseph Piper of Lewistown. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Blake, Brock, and Brantley Hartzler and Luca Bianchini. Surviving also is her former daughter in law Dorie Gross Harrell. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son in law Eddie Piper, her brother Granville, and her brother Everett.  

Services were private.
