Doris M. Selke of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Philadelphia Protestant Home in the Lawndale section of the city. She was 93 years old. Doris was born February 8, 1919, the daughter of the late George L. Goodman and the late Mary E. Goodman (nee - Schoenfelder).

She is the beloved wife of the late Edward Selke; mother of Jacqueline Mikesell and her husband John of Flint, Michigan, and the late Gail Selke; grandmother of Christopher J. Mikesell and Jonathan D. Mikesell; sister of the late Paul Goodman, formerly of Warminster, and the late George Goodman, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Doris was born in Philadelphia and lived in Atlantic City, New Jersey until she was ten years old. She graduated from Pottsville High School in 1937 and attended business college. Doris worked for many years as an administrative assistant at the Frankford Arsenal. She was a longtime resident of the Lawncrest section of Philadelphia, living on Van Kirk Street until moving into the Protestant Home in 2004. Doris was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and was also active with the Prime Timers of Mayfair and the Library Club of Lawncrest.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. and to her funeral service at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel of the Philadelphia Protestant Home, 6500 Tabor Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111. Her graveside service followed at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Benjamin Krey, pastor of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 6001 Colgate Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
