Winifred Cherry of Horsham, Pennsylvania died Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was 92 years old. Winifred was born October 1, 1914 in Harrogate, England, daughter of the late Julius Cziko and the late Teresa Cziko (nee - Dodson).

She is the beloved wife of the late Charles M. Cherry. Mother of C. Douglas Cherry and his wife Conny, Alan J. Cherry and his wife Beth and Warren I. Cherry and his wife Joan. Grandmother of 8. Great grandmother of 11. Great great grandmother of 2. Sister of Mildred Greenwood and Bernard Cziko and his wife Laura.

Winnie emigrated to the United States from her home in England at 5 years old around 1920. She was granted United States citizenship. She was an avid gardener and a talented seamstress. She was married to her husband Charles for more than 50 years. She loved to spend time at her home in Florida. Winnie was a member of The Daughters of the British Empire who joined the Royal Heritage Society and helped refurbish Orminston Mansion in Fairmount Park. She was a member of the Overlook Hills Womens Club.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing, Thursday, March 22, 2007 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. and her funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 North Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA. 19090. A cemetery service at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Prospectville, PA. 19002 followed the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Church of Our Savior, Old York and Homestead Roads, Jenkintown, PA. 19046.
