Richard T. Barba of Cheltenham, Pennsylvania died Monday, November 9, 2009 at the Artman Home in Ambler, Pa. He was 68 years old. Richard was born December 5, 1940, the son of the late John Barba and the late Josephine Barba (nee - Molinaro).

He is the beloved husband of the late Maryann Catherine Barba (nee - Madden). Father of Stephanie Perlman and her husband Michael, Nicole Barba and Paul Barba. Grandfather of Gianna and Mia. He was the brother of Mary DiCesare, Rosemarie Coleman, Gemma McCauley, Anna English, Theresa Fisher and John, Vincent, Josephine, Peter, Frank, Anthony and Edward Barba.

Richard was born in Philadelphia, raised in Germantown and graduated from North Catholic High School for Boys in the city. He also attended Temple University. He was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local No. 1 during his working career and retired as an employee of SEPTA. He was the last surviving member of a family of thirteen children. He was a 36 year resident of Cheltenham, Pa., where he was a member of Presentation B.V.M. Parish.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. and Monday, November 16, 2009 from 8:30 to 9:30 A.M. at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. His Funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday at 10:00 A.M. at Presentation B. V. M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012. A graveside service followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.
