The following was lovingly composed by Martha’s family:

Martha Sheehan, age 89, passed away on September 3, 2018, at The Philadelphia Protestant Home. Martha was born on January 25, 1929 in Czernowitz, Romania to the late Georg Neumohr and the late Wilhelmina Kunzelmann. She is the beloved wife of the late John J. Sheehan; mother of John George Sheehan and his wife Roshiema, Lorraine Cruz and her husband Ivan, and Maria Sheehan; grandmother of Rebecca McBride, Liam and Anton, Axl and Gemma Sheehan; great-grandmother of Autumn and Roman; and sister of the late Horst and the late Edith.

Martha moved to Hallstadt, Germany in 1939 where she worked as a pharmacist assistant. She married John Joseph Sheehan in her hometown of Hallstadt and moved to the United States after World War 2 and started a family in the Lawndale section of Northeast Philadelphia.

Martha was a devout Jehovah’s Witness. Her greatest joys were spending time with family and especially the grand and great-grandchildren in recent years. Martha was an avid reader and passed on her thirst of knowledge to her children. Her passions were reading the Bible and related study guides. She also enjoyed learning about geography and health related issues.

Martha touched so many lives and will be missed until she will be resurrected back to the Paradise earth as promised by Jehovah in the following Scriptures: Psalm 37:29, John 5:28, and Revelation 21:4-5.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1237 Federal Street, Philadelphia, PA 19145.
