Frederick "Fred" Heintz of Worcester, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Meadowood at Worcester. He was 88 years old. Fred was born January 14, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Frederick William Heintz and the late Joanna Heintz (nee - Witzke). He is the beloved husband of the late Mildred Heintz; father of Frederick “Rick” R. Heintz and the late David W. Heintz; grandfather of Fallon, Bryan, and Ryan Heintz, brother of the late Bob Heintz and his wife Linda; brother-in-law of Martha Walker and her husband Travis and Alice Hockman and her husband Larry.
Fred was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He graduated from Northeast High School and attended Temple University where he received bachelors and masters degrees in Business Administration. Fred served in the United States Army from September of 1950 until June of 1952 reaching the rank of Sergeant First Class. He went to work at SKF Industries, a manufacturer of bearings, as a marketing and planning director. Fred retired in 1986 after 27.5 years of service. During his time at SKF he participated as a Junior Achievement advisor teaching students about business. He was also an officer in the American Marketing Association.
Fred was an active member of Highway Tabernacle Church where he was a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the church board and a trustee, Calvary Assembly of God where he headed the missions committee for 15 years and most recently Family Worship Center in Lansdale, PA. Fred was a member of the choir and held elected positions of responsibility at each of the churches he attended. He is formerly of Meadowlark Road and also Laurel House in Lansdale before he moved to Meadowood.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Friday, March 16, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. His graveside service followed with military honors rendered by the United States Army at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Peter Miller from Family Worship Center, 1000 Troxel Road, Lansdale, PA 19446.
