Marianne Margarete Schmidt of Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania died Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill. She was 93 years old. Marianne was born September 25, 1919 in the small town of Zeulenroda, in the district of Greitz in Thuringia, Germany, the daughter of the late Max Emil Huster and the late Anna Katherina Huster (nee - Hoffmann).

She is the beloved wife of the late Herbert R. Schmidt; dear mother of Herbert A. Schmidt and his late wife Louise, Walter R. Schmidt and Albert P. Schmidt and his wife Sandra; grandmother of Amanda Schmidt.

Marianne was a certified beauty hairstylist before her marriage and was a devoted wife and mother. She traveled in the United States and Germany and loved gardening, bowling, knitting and crocheting. She was a member of the Vereinigung Erzgebirge, Carnaval Sitzung, and also enjoyed entertaining the ladies of the Tabor Lutheran Church Frauenverein.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 9:00 A.M. and to her funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. A graveside service followed at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Jane Marston, pastor of Tabor Lutheran Church.
