Dorothy Devine of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Monday, March 12, 2012 at Hahnemann University Hospital. She was 75 years old. Dorothy was born August 13, 1936 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Alfred Francis Casillo and the late Ethel Casillo (nee - Fearon).
She is the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Devine and the late Richard Stein. Mother of Richard and Joseph Stein. Grandmother of Christine, Richard, Amanda and Joseph Stein. She is also survived by her many great-grandchildren, Sisters Pat Deal and her husband Harry and Judy Krause and brother Fred Casillo.
Born, raised and educated in Philadelphia, she attended Kensington High School. Dorothy met her first husband in 1950 after his return from military service. The two were married until his passing on October 8, 1980. She met Joseph Devine 10 years later and the two were married in April 1991. Dorothy worked in the billing department at Hahnemann University Hospital for many years. She was an excellent seamstress, making anything from clothing to curtains. She enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking and painting. She had a real talent for creating detailed miniatures out of bread dough. Dorothy was always there for family and friends, she made the holidays exceptional for her family and was a true “woman for all seasons”.
