Ulrich Johann Cybulka of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at his residence. He was 82 years old. Ulrich was born December 14, 1929 in East Prussia, the son of the late Wilhelm Czybulka and the late Else Czybulka (nee - Lenkeit).

He is the beloved husband of Margarete; father of Elisabeth Duff (Robert), Richard Cybulka (Christine), and Kristine Lofrese (Dennis); grandfather of Katarina and Erika Duff, and Amanda and Julia Cybulka.

Ulrich was born, raised, and educated in the small town of Johannisburg, East Prussia. Currently the town is called Pisz and is situated in northeast Poland. At the end of World War II the family was forced from their estate in East Prussia, along with all of the other ethnic Germans in the town, and settled in a suburb of Munich, where he served an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker. He emigrated to Canada in 1952, where he worked for Precision Woodworks in Montreal. He came to the United States in 1955 and worked as a carpenter and cabinet maker for Beacon Builders until 1978, for Philadelphia Carpentry in Feasterville until 1981, for Ted Pluetzer Architectural Woodwork of Glenside until 1985, and then worked independently until his retirement in 1991. Ulrich and his family lived on Teesdale Street in Northeast Philadelphia, until moving to Huntingdon Valley in 1980. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Olney, the Hermann-Humboldt Lodge No. 125 F. & A.M., and the Cannstatter Volksfest Verein.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 from 9:00 A.M., to his Masonic service at 10:30 A.M., and to his funeral service at 10:45 A.M. at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. A graveside service followed at Forest Hills Cemetery, 101 Byberry Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Rodney Kopp, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Olney, 5900 North 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19120.
