Robert John "Bob" Sellers, Sr. of Furlong, Pennsylvania died Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Jeanes Hospital. He was 65 years old. Bob was born April 6, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Henry F. Sellers and the late Ethel B. Sellers (nee - Platt).
He is the beloved husband of Charlyn (nee Piening) Sellers; father of Bob Sellers Jr. and his wife Darlene and Charlyn Weitkunat and her husband Tim; grandfather of Megan Sellers, Charlie Sellers, Jonathan Weitkunat, and Madelyn Weitkunat; brother of Henry Sellers and his wife Carol, James Sellers and his wife Diane, and Joyce Schiller and her husband Frank.
Bob was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He and his wife began going steady in 1962 and they graduated from Murrell Dobbins Technical High School in January of 1965. Bob and Charlyn were married in September 1967. In September of 1975, they moved to Furlong to raise their growing family. Bob started his working career with Bell telephone at the age of seventeen, he retired from Bell Telephone as a Measurements Specialist, after 33 years, in 1998. Bob was a retired minister with the New Apostolic Church in Doylestown, he loved to golf and would organize golf outings. Bob loved to travel, he especially loved his trips to Egypt, Rome, and family outings to the beach and mountains.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewings on Friday, December 7, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. and Saturday, December 8, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at New Apostolic Church - Doylestown, 404 Pine Run Road, Doylestown, PA 18901.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to NAC-USA Youth Development, LLC 804 Meadowood Lane, Warminster, PA 18974.
