Mary Ann Connor of Abington, Pennsylvania died Thursday, April 25, 2013 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Abington. She was 83 years old. Mary was born April 22, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late James O’Connell and the late Catherine Hazel O’Connell (nee - Patrick). She is the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Connor; mother of Patrick J. Connor and James J. Connor and his wife Donna; grandmother of Allison and Kevin Connor; sister of Eileen Sabol-Doucette.

Mary Ann was raised and educated in Cheltenham where she attended Presentation B. V. M. School. After Presentation she continued her education at Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia where she graduated in 1948. Mary Ann met Joseph Connor in 1953 after he purchased a house in the neighborhood. The couple were married in 1959. Mary Ann and Joe enjoyed taking their family to the New Jersey shore for summer vacations. Mary Ann lived much of her life in Cheltenham where she was a member of Presentation B. V. M. parish and later a member of Cheltenham Seniors. She worked for many years at I2R, a local company that manufactured laboratory equipment, as a purchaser. In 1985, after her children were grown, she became a member of the staff at the Barbin and O’Connell Law Office. She took classes at Penn State University and received her paralegal certification. She retired from the firm in 2003. Mary Ann loved to cross stitch. She was a talented cook and baker. Her family especially loved her chocolate cake and gingerbread cookies.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Monday, April 29, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046 and also to her viewing on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 from 9:00 A.M. and to her Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Presentation B. V. M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012. Her graveside service followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.

Religious services were conducted by Fr. William S. Harrison from Presentation B. V. M. Church, 100 Old Soldiers Road, Cheltenham, PA 19012.
