Angela M. Powell of Warrington, Pennsylvania died Sunday, February 16, 2014 at her home. She was 97 years old. Angela was born June 11, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Salvatore Simonetta and the late Francesca Simonetta. She is the beloved wife of the late George E. Powell; Mother of Deborah A. Madera and her husband Michael, Susan M. Kuntz and her husband James, Carol A. DiRenzo and her husband Albert, Jr.; grandmother of Melissa Brigidi and her husband Vincent, Michael Madera, Christopher Hammond, Christina Kroh and her husband Robert, Paul DiRenzo, and Angela DiRenzo; great grandmother of Kyle Brigidi, Kayleigh Kroh, and Bobby Kroh; sister of Joseph Simonetta and his late wife Josephine.

Angela was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. She left school at a young age because of the death of her mother, and helped to raise her brothers and sisters. Angela enjoyed working at a hosiery mill in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania when she was younger. She met George Powell after he completed his service in the United States Navy during the World War II. The couple were married and started their family in the late 1940s. During her lifetime Angela loved to shop, and would spend an excessive amount of time, to some, in the produce section at the market. She also enjoyed singing and cooking for her family. Angela spent many summers in Ship Bottom, New Jersey with her family. She was a longtime resident of the 100 block of Henry Ave in Warminster, PA, until she moved in with her daughter Carol six years ago.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 11:00 A.M. at Nativity Of Our Lord Church, 605 West Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974. Her graveside service followed at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Prospectville, PA 19002.

Angela’s Funeral Mass was conducted by her nephew, Father Patrick Timothy Hoare.
