The following obituary was composed by Doris’ daughter:

Doris Jean Schultz, 93, of Warminster, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at Ann's Choice on August 6, 2026. She was the beloved wife of the late Lowell Schultz and the devoted mother of Karen (Schultz) Ferrante and her husband, John.

Born in the quiet rural community of Villard, Minnesota, Doris lived a life defined by faith, kindness, and service. After graduating from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Home Economics, she returned to teach at Kensington High School. Later, while working at the University of Minnesota, she met Lowell while attending dance classes. They were married in 1961, beginning a loving partnership that lasted nearly 60 years.

Doris and Lowell shared a passion for travel and adventure, especially in their motor home. Together they visited all 50 U.S. states and every one of Canada's 10 provinces and 3 territories, creating countless memories along the way. Their travels also took them to Spain, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Mexico, the Cayman Islands, and St. John.

Those who knew Doris will remember her gentle kindness, warm smile, and striking bright blue eyes. She had a lifelong love of learning and found great joy in serving others through volunteer work, including the Resurrection Lutheran Church Dorcas Craft Group and the Treasure Chest at Ann's Choice. After dedicating herself to raising her daughter, Karen, Doris enjoyed a rewarding career of more than 20 years in the Academic Services and Advising offices at Temple University's Ambler Campus, where she was respected by her colleagues and appreciated by the many students she served.

Above all, Doris treasured her family. She delighted in caring for those she loved, nurtured lifelong friendships, and encouraged others through her warmth, grace, and quiet faith. Whether traveling with Lowell, volunteering in her church and community, or simply spending time with family and friends, she reflected a life of generosity, compassion, and steadfast love.

Doris is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Ferrante, and her husband, John; her cherished grandchildren, Mike and Rachel; her beloved great-grandchildren, Justan, Patrick, and Alice; and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lowell; her parents; her sister, Joyce Clare; and her brother-in-law, Maurice Clare and nieces Beth Dondlinger and Cathy Neumann.

Doris lived a life marked by unwavering faith, kindness, and generosity. Her gentle spirit, compassionate heart, and deep love for her family will be treasured always and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or to a charitable organization of your choice in Doris' memory.
