Joan Marie Stauffer formerly of Horsham, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Fort Washington Estates. She was 81 years old. Joan was born October 28, 1933 in Ashland, New Jersey, daughter of the late Edward Morton Redstreake and the late Marion Louise Redstreake (nee - Jones). She is the beloved wife of 62 years of Robert B. Stauffer; mother of Joanne McManus and her husband Scott, Karen Gowdy and her husband Jim, and the late Cathy Ann Stauffer; grandmother of TJ (Alyssa), Rob (Giselle), Lauren, Lindsey, Janet (Jamie), Michael (Jennifer), Jeffrey, and Jayson; great grandmother of Quinten, Hunter, Ashley, Luke, Sofia, James, and Sofita; sister of Susan Geary (Joseph), Mary Lynn Wert (the late David), and Robert Redstreake (Diane). She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.

Joan was born in Ashland, NJ but was raised and educated in Roslyn, PA. She was a a graduate of Abington High School. Joan was an avid and published quilter, she was also fond of all things old. She lived in, and lovingly restored, a 200 year old farmhouse. As a mother of a special needs daughter, Cathy, she was active in working with the school district to ensure an education for special needs children. Always willing to help someone in need, she will be remembered by her family and friends for her extraordinary kindness, generosity, and long hugs.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, from 9:00 A.M. and funeral service at 10:00 A.M. in the auditorium at Gwynedd Estates, 301 Norristown Road, Ambler, PA 19002. Interment was private.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. James E. Zinszer from Gwynedd Estates, 301 Norristown Road, Ambler, PA 19002.
