Charlotte M. Kuschke of Fort Washington, Pennsylvania died Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Fort Washington Estates. She was 93 years old. Charlotte was born March 8, 1925 in San Francisco, California, daughter of the late Rudolph H. Milling and the late Trinchen A. Milling (nee - Koncke). She is the beloved wife of the late Arthur Wyndham Kuschke, Jr.; mother of David and his wife Carol, John and his wife Kristin and Margaret and her husband Jesse Cowell Sr.; grandmother of Joel Kuschke, Megan Kuschke, Emma Cowell Rieggle and her husband Nathaniel, Jesse Cowell Jr., Carson Kuschke, and Calvin Kuschke; sister of the late Ingeborg Comstock.
Charlotte was born, raised, and educated in San Francisco, California. She was a graduate of San Francisco State College with a BA in Elementary Education with minors in music and home economics. She taught in California for one year before moving to Kirkwood, PA to teach in a newly formed Christian school. She taught for four years in Kirkwood until meeting Arthur while he was librarian at the Westminster Theological Seminary. The two were married and started their family on Kingston Road in Oreland, PA. When their children went to school, Charlotte went back to work teaching at the Phil-Mont Christian Academy as a music teacher. After 15 years in Oreland, the family moved to Dresher, PA on Afton Road. After Arthur’s passing in 2010, Charlotte moved into Fort Washington Estates. Charlotte became a Christian in High School when she discovered an Orthodox Presbyterian Church in San Francisco. She was a member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church since 1958. She loved to sing in the Choral groups and continued to sing and play piano until her health did not let her.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 1:30 P.M. at Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 734 Willow Grove Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038.
Religious services will be conducted by Rev. J. Mark Sallade from Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 734 Willow Grove Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, 734 Willow Grove Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038 for the A.W. Kuschke Memorial Library in Uganda.
