The following tribute was composed Arturo’s family:
Dr. Arturo Apolinario, 80, of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania died peacefully October 7, 2016 at Holy Redeemer Hospital Hospice after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 26, 1936 in Pangasinan, Philippines, son of the late Gaudencio Apolinario and the late Carmen Apolinario (nee-Alcantara). In 1961, he graduated cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila with a degree in Doctor of Medicine. Arturo immigrated to the United States in 1969, where he practiced as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist in several Philadelphia hospitals including Hahnemann Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital. He retired in 2011 at the age of 75. He was a member of the Filipino-American Medical Association.
Arturo is a beloved husband to Erlinda Apolinario (nee-Eugenio) for 55 memorable years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his 5 children: Arlyn Webb (Kurt), Carmel Kamens (Michael), Deanna Herman (Rob), Ethel Apolinario, and Arthur Apolinario. His 10 wonderful grandchildren will forever miss their “Lolo”. They include Lindsy, Bryan, Amanda, Courtney, Alyssa, Ryan, Andrew, Xander, Amaya, and Ashton. He was the oldest of seven children and is survived by a brother, four sisters, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arturo was known for his brilliance, calligraphy skills, affection for his pets, and love of classical movies and music. His family and friends can also attest to his generous nature and his witty sense of humor.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Relatives and friends are also invited to his viewing on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 from 10:00 A.M. at St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, 820 Susquehanna Road, Rydal, PA 19046. His Funeral Mass began at 10:30 A.M. His graveside service followed at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Road, Roslyn, PA 19001.
Religious services were conducted by Fr. Kevin P. Murray, Pastor of St. Hilary of Poitiers Church, 820 Susquehanna Road, Rydal, PA 19046
