Edward Louis "Ed" Wilmer of Chalfont, Pennsylvania died Friday, November 11, 2016 at Doylestown Hospital. He was 55 years old. Ed was born December 12, 1960 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late John Drake Wilmer and the late Nanine Wilmer (nee - Leech). He is the beloved husband of Delorse (nee Harris) Wilmer; father of Charles Edward Wilmer and Katherine Monique Wilmer; brother of John Wilmer; uncle of Janine Ushe and her husband Mwiza; great uncle of Noah and Faith Ushe. He is also survived by his sisters in law Jacalyn Mills and Wendy Bray and her husband Benny and their children Lee, Ashley, and Benny “Ross” Bray.

Ed was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He is a 1979 graduate of Germantown Friends High School. He continued his education at Haverford College and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1984. While visiting friends, James and Ruby Wilson, Ed met Delores Harris. They fell in love and were married in 1987 in Columbus, Ohio where Delorse had been living. They made their home together and started their family first in North Hills (Glenside), then Erdenheim before settling in Chalfont, PA.

Ed started his working career with PECO and later went to work for Iron Mountain. He was currently employed as a Programmer/Analyst II. Ed was a Youth Pastor for West Oak Lane Church of God and more recently a Sunday School Teacher with Chelten a Church of Hope. In his free time Ed enjoyed scale modeling and photography.

Relatives and friends were invited to his memorial service on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 10:45 A.M. at Chelten a Church of Hope, 1601 Limekiln Pike, Dresher, PA 19025.

Due to allergy concerns, donations in lieu of any flowers may be made.
If you prefer to send flowers, please direct delivery to the Doylestown ICU Dept. where great care was given to Ed in his need.
