Eugene T. Babau of Jenkintown, Pennsylvania died Monday, August 7, 2017 at Abington Hospital Jefferson Health. He was 78 years old. Eugene was born September 11, 1938 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Peter Babau and the late Anna Travaglini (nee - Scipione). He is the beloved husband of Annette E. Sorichillo-Babau; father of Anthony Babau, Edward Babau, and Jennine Babau, Anna Marie Fitzpatrick and her husband Michael Angelo, Rose Marie Lanetti, Gina Marie March and her husband Dennis, and Annette Eve Dilworth and her husband Arthur; grandfather of Brittany Quinn Dunn and her husband Jesse, Jillian Rae Babau, Marissa Adams, Ashley Elizabeth Lanetti, Michael Angelo Fitzpatrick Jr., Nicholas Antonio Fitzpatrick, Julien King March, Hayden King March, Ashton King March, Adrien King March, Peter Franklin Jr., and Stella Rose Dilworth. He is also survived by his beloved aunt Rita Feliciani and best friend since grade school Rocco Gerolamo.

Eugene was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He was a 1956 graduate of Northeast High School in Philadelphia. An avid sports fan, Eugene loved his Philadelphia Eagles. He was an account executive for almost 30 years with McGuiness and through the transitions to Acosta. In his free time, with his love of 37 years Annette, he would DJ as “Instant Replay” for weddings and events through Krazy Kat Productions. Eugene will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends and English Bulldog LuLu.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. and Memorial Mass at 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia Church, 535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148 or Montgomery County SPCA, 1006 Edge Hill Road, Abington, PA 19001.
