Francesco "Frank" Gualtieri of Abington, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 29, 2017. He was 92 years old. Frank was born November 19, 1924 in Maida, Italy, son of the late Francesco Gualtieri and the late Mariana Gualtieri (nee - Anania). He is the beloved husband of 61 years to the late Caterina (nee Scalfaro) Gualtieri; father of Antonio Gualtieri (Lesa), Marianna Genn (Robert), and Renato Gualtieri (Nancy Maychuk); grandfather of Caterina Gualtieri (Kenneth Walsh), Jamie Forsyth (Timothy), Cristina Dannenfelser (William), Robert (Nicole), Melissa, Francis, and Catherine Genn; great grandfather of Madelyn and James Dannenfelser, Everett Genn, and Sienna Forsyth. Also survived by a brother Angelo Gualtieri
Frank was a longtime resident of Abington Township where he worked for many years in the Streets Department. Frank and Caterina grew up in Maida, Italy. The two were married in November of 1950 and emigrated to the United States in 1968. Frank loved to garden in his free time.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Thursday, September 14, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. and Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady Help Of Christians, 1500 Marian Road, Abington, PA 19001. His entombment followed at 11:30 A.M. at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Avenue, Cheltenham, PA 19038.
Religious services were conducted by Fr. Anthony W. Janton from Our Lady Help Of Christians.
