Charles K. Stauffer of Dublin, Pennsylvania died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at his home. He was 85 years old. Charles was born August 11, 1932 in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, son of the late Leon Stauffer and the late Esther Stauffer (nee - Rutherford). He is the beloved husband of Diane Stauffer for more than 39 years; father of Scott Major and his wife Joan and Sandra Cassel; grandfather of Zackre and his fiancée Gabrielle, Shawnna, and Gabriala; great grandfather of Amelia and Wyatt; brother of Helen Weitzel, Leon Stauffer, Stanley Stauffer, Walter Stauffer, and Clara Galenski; he is also survived by a loving extended family and friends.

Charles was born, raised, educated, and a lifelong resident of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army where he valiantly served his country on the front lines during the Korean War as a Tank Commander. He was honorably discharged, returning home in 1955. Charles was also a lifelong firefighter in Willow Grove, and his experience in leadership helped him to achieve the rank of Chief Engineer where he happily passed along years of wisdom and experience to the new members. He “retired” from his position with the Upper Moreland Township as a Heavy Equipment Operator after more than 40 years of service to his community; however, Charles quickly became bored with retirement and decided to return once again to the Township, this time around with the Parks and Recreation Department. His true calling in life though was that of a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Relatives and friends were also invited to his viewing on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. His graveside service and military honors rendered by the United States Army followed at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. James Goodyear, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation, PO Box 781352, Philadelphia, PA 19178.

Family flowers arranged by Kremp Florist 215-657-6700.
