Loretta Miriam Hofmann of Jamison, Pennsylvania died Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Jefferson Health Hospice at Warminster. She was 86 years old. Loretta was born April 25, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Lewis W. Stroup and the late Bertha A. Stroup (nee - Pfeffer). She is the beloved wife of Bruce R. Hofmann; mother of Bruce Jr. and his wife Cathy, Bill and his wife Denise, and Bob and his wife Donna; loving grandmother of 8, and great grandmother of 5. She is also survived by her twin sister Marian Layman.

Loretta was born, raised, and educated in the Olney section of Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Olney High School and a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church. Loretta met Bruce while on a trip to Washington DC with her church. The two fell in love and married in a double ceremony with her sister Marian and her beloved Charles. Loretta raised her boys on the 600 block of Tyson Avenue in Philadelphia. She loved to sing and sang in the choir at Zion Lutheran Church and at the Manor at York Town. Loretta’s greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and was a skilled grower of African Violets.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 from 9:30 A.M. and funeral service at 10:30 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Road, Roslyn, PA 19001.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Owen Griffiths.
