Dr. Frido Buschmann of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania died Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Hospital. He was 88 years old. Frido was born July 22, 1929 in Bremen, Germany, son of the late Wilhelm Friedrich Buschmann and the late Wilhelmine Buschmann (nee - Schierenbeck). He is the beloved husband of the late Irmgard Buschmann; Father of Dr. Frido W. Buschmann and his wife Carol and Sandra L. Knapp Esq. and her husband Charles “Corky”; Grandfather of Frido W. Buschmann and Charles “Chip” and Anna Knapp.

Frido was born, raised, and started his education in Bremen, Germany. While in Germany, he ran on the track team and held a record for the 1000 meter. He was trained as a Dental Lab Technician in Germany and later received his undergraduate degree from Muhlenberg College and his D.D.S. dental degree from Temple University Dental School in 1959. He immigrated to the United States in 1949 with his parents and returned to Germany in 1953 to bring Irmgard to the states for them to start their lives together. They were married March 21, 1953 in Stroudsburg, PA. Frido enlisted in the United States Army in 1951 where he served in the Dental Detachment and served honorably until his discharge in 1953. While his son was in school, Frido served as Assistant Scout Master of Troop 208 and continued on as troop committee member. Beginning in the early 1970s, the family enjoyed trips to Raquette Lake in upstate New York. Frido enjoyed the outdoors especially camping, skiing and hiking.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14100 Worthington Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116. His entombment and military honors rendered by the United States Army followed at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.

Religious services were conducted by The Reverend Norbert F. Hahn, Ph.D. from Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 14100 Worthington Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116.
