Dorothy H. Maloney formerly of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Friday, December 14, 2018 at Abramson Residence. She was 88 years old. Dorothy was born March 11, 1930 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Thomas Patrick McConnell and the late Dorothy Helen McConnell (nee - Hughes). She is the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Maloney; mother of Mary Ann Teti and her husband Robert, Joseph Maloney Jr., Michael Maloney and his wife Joyce, Peter Maloney, Thomas Maloney and his wife Hope, and the late Dorothy Maloney; grandmother of Lisa Boyko and her husband Anthony, Robin Watson and her husband Robert, Robert Teti an his wife Dawn, and Thomas Maloney; great grandmother of Anthony Jr., R.J., Jordan, and Jade.
Dorothy and Joseph were married on August 30, 1947, in Philadelphia, after his honorable service in the US Navy during World War II. They were happily married until Joseph’s passing on March 29, 1985. Dorothy enjoyed playing slots and watching her soaps during her free time. She had a love of cake which she passed on to some of her family.
Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. and memorial service at 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, 1215 Super Highway, Langhorne, PA 19047.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Abington Health Foundation, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001.
