Gertrude Anna Weber of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania died Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Wesley Enhanced Living Doylestown. She was 89 years old. Anna was born May 7, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Max Fischer and the late Anna (nee Eidner) Fischer. She is the beloved wife of the late Ernest L. Weber; mother of Eric Weber and Linda Wolf and her husband the late William; Oma of Madison, Hannah, and Ella Weber, Alex and Tyler Wolf; sister of Anita Prouty and her husband the late John; sister in law of the late Herman A. Weber and his wife Alice S.
Gertrude was born, raised and educated in Philadelphia where she was a graduate of Murrell Dobbins Vocational-Technical School. She met Ernie while attending Tabor Lutheran Church. The two shared common interests being first generation Americans of German immigrants. They were married May 19, 1951 at Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. Ernst Schmidt. They later joined pastor’s son, Dr. Ernie Schmidt, to establish the Gloria Dei Church in Huntingdon Valley. Gertrude loved to cook, bowling, entertaining, travel and was active with the Women’s Club of Huntingdon Valley.
Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Friday, September 21, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.
Religious services were conducted by Dr. Karyn Wiseman from Gloria Dei Church, 570 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Gloria Dei Church, 570 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
