Anton J. "Tony" Walter of Rockledge, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at St. John Neumann Center. He was 81 years old. Tony was born July 2, 1937 in Bukin, Yugoslavia, son of the late Jacob Walter and the late Maria Walter (nee - Stopper). He is the beloved father of Lorraine Walter and her husband James Lostetter, Robert Walter and his wife Kim, and Catherine Poole and her husband Michael Spicer; grandfather of Sofi, Nickolas, and Emma Walter, Jordan and London Poole; brother of the late Joseph Walter. He is also survived by his long-time companion Patricia Treacy.

Tony was born and raised in Yugoslavia before immigrating to the United States at age 15. He was a graduate of Trenton Central High School in Trenton, NJ. Although Tony made his living as a tool and die maker, his true passion was playing tenor saxophone and leading the Tony Walter Band, which he did for 45 years. Tony had a lifelong love of soccer, from his many years on the field to following his favorite European teams. He remained active biking, skiing, hiking and traveling. He particularly had fond memories of returning to Germany and Austria, near where he grew up. Tony was a proud member of the Trenton Donauschwaben Association.

Services are pending.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to The Trenton Donauschwaben Association, 127 Route 156, Yardville, NJ 08620.
