Karel L. Peterman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Monday, November 25, 2019 at Temple University Hospital. She was 78 years old. Karel was born June 14, 1941 in Montrose, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Raymond Darling and the late Mildred Darling (nee - Holbrook). She is the beloved wife of Pastor Philip N. Peterman; mother of Tim Peterman and his wife Sarah, Dennis Peterman and his wife Michele, Rebecca L. P. Smith and her husband Tim, and the late Andrew P. Peterman; grandmother of Julia, Josh, Holly, and David Peterman and Rachel and Naomi Smith; sister of Linda Noldy, Raymond Darling, the late Marianna Lane, and the late Douglas Darling.

Karel was born, raised, and educated in Susquehanna County, PA. She was a graduate of Towanda High School. She continued her education at Baptist Bible Seminary and received her Masters in Psychology from LaSalle University.  Karel was a retiree of the United States Postal Postal Service.  She enjoyed camping and reading in her free time.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.  Karel shared her love of the Lord with children as a Sunday School teacher, and through many years of faithful service at Crystal River Academy and Oxford Circle Christian School. She touched many lives.

Relatives and friends were invited to her memorial service on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 7:00 P.M. at Oxford Circle Baptist Church, 6401 Loretto Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19124. Relatives and friends were invited to greet the family over light refreshments after the service.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Carroll Wynne from Tenth Presbyterian Church.
