George Lewis Phy of Maple Glen, Pennsylvania passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Abington Hospital Jefferson Health. He was 69 years old. George was born October 5, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Lewis George Phy and the late Myrtle May Phy (nee - Lewis). He is the beloved husband of Diane Wagenhals; father of Carole and her husband Michael Blankemeyer; grandfather of Cie and Rowan Blankemeyer. He is also survived by Diane’s children Jean Rodgers and her husband Tom and Sandra Coates and her husband Bret.
George’s first five years were on Diamond Street in Philadelphia before the family moved to Hatboro, PA to give him a chance at a better education. George was a graduate of Hatboro Horsham High School in 1968. He continued his education at EMCO Technical. George worked for Allstate Insurance, starting as a Claim Adjuster and retiring from his position as Technical Reviewer after 35 years. George was a lifelong learner. He enjoyed tinkering on his computers, remote controlled cars and Harley Davidson. He loved to travel with his wife to Canada and Maine and watch the RC races in the Poconos.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Friday, December 28, 2018 from 9:00 A.M. and memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
Religious services were conducted by Gerry Vassar a family friend.
