Norma T. Wetzel of Salem, Oregon died Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at her home. She was 74 years old. Norma was born March 25, 1944 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Marion Rebecca Thatcher (nee - Stobbs). She is the wife of the late Joseph M. Wetzel; mother of Kirstin, Michael, Matthew, and Trent Wetzel, and Alexis Mendez. She is also survived by many grandchildren.
Norma was born, raised, and educated in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Frankford High School and was a member of the High School Choir under the direction of Walter A. Lamont. She and her family moved to Portland, Oregon in 1969, and has been a resident of Salem, Oregon since 2006.
Relatives and friends are invited to her memorial service on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1444 Liberty Street SE, Salem, Oregon 97302. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at the above address with a notation that it be directed to the music ministry.
