Doris Elaine Santangelo of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania died Friday, January 18, 2019 at Jefferson Health Hospice at Warminster. She was 91 years old. Doris was born March 13, 1927 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late James Irvin Moore Sr. and the late Edith Moore (nee - Lees). She is the beloved wife of the late Stephen A. Santangelo; mother of Judith Bull. Grandmother of William Bull and his wife Kristen and Christopher Bull and his wife Sarah; great grandmother of Christine Judith, Colin, Stephen, Eric, Aaron, and Corrine Bull; sister of James I. Moore Jr.

Doris was born, raised, and educated in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia where she was a graduate of Roxborough High School. Doris worked for fifty years as a teller for Germantown Savings Bank. She met Stephen at a dance where he walked her home. The two fell in love and were married at St. John the Baptist Church rectory in the Manayunk section of the city. She was predeceased by her husband in 2006. Even though she was raised Lutheran, Doris enjoyed attending the Catholic Mass and became a very faithful member of her parish. Doris was an avid bowler and enjoyed her trips to the casino in Atlantic City, NJ and later Chester, PA. She was a frequent customer at the Perkins in Warminster where she loved to start her day with strawberry pancakes with extra whip cream. Doris was able to remain healthy and active up until March of 2017. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Friday, January 25, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her Funeral Mass began at 10:30 A.M. at St. David Church, 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. Her graveside service followed at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, 352 South Gulph Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406.

Religious services were conducted by Father Anthony W. Janton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
