Allan "Al" Pinkerton of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Albert Einstein Medical Center. He was 48 years old. Al was born May 13, 1970 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late William Pinkerton and the late Catherine Pinkerton (nee - Maguire). He is the beloved husband of Barbara Pinkerton (nee Brown); father of Michael McGuire and his wife Geri and Owen McGuire and his wife Kim; grandfather of 7; brother of John Pinkerton and his wife Lynn, Cathy Pinkerton, Charles Pinkerton and his wife Theresa, Anne Suttmann and her husband Walter, Robert Pinkerton, and the late William Pinkerton.
Al was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia where he graduated from Cardinal Dougherty High School in 1988. Al continued his education for an additional 2 years at Penn State University. Al worked at and became the manager of the Pit Stop Car Wash on Cottman Avenue for 25 years. He was a long time member of Crestlawn American Legion Post 832. He served the post as Junior Vice Commander and enjoyed spending time there with friends. Al married his wife Barbara on April 13, 2013. Al loved fishing and Al and Barbara spent time each year at Tohickon Valley Park in Pipersville fishing and camping. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Al also liked playing darts and hand-held puzzle games.
Relatives and friends were invited to a memorial gathering from 3:00 to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at Crestlawn American Legion Post 832, 301 East Godfrey Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19120.
