James J. "Jim" McCarraher of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Friday, February 22, 2019 at his home. He was 75 years old. Jim was born August 15, 1943 in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late John McCarraher and the late Margaret McCarraher (nee - Katona). He is the beloved husband of Ginny McCarraher; father of James J. McCarraher and his wife Kate, Timothy J. McCarraher, and Gina Lewis and her husband Derek; grandfather of Erin Pagliaro and her husband David, Samantha and Ariana McCarraher, Rachael, Brendan, Cameron, and Sarah Corbett, and Devon Lewis; great grandfather of Ryan and Nolan Pagliaro; brother of Jack, Bill, and Michael Raudenbush.
Jim retired from Septa in 2012 at 68 years old. Over the years, he also worked as an auto mechanic and insurance adjuster. Jim was a member of Lawndale Baptist Church for more than 40 years. He served on the deacon board for the church and was married to Ginny there on March 11, 1967.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Relatives and friends were also invited to Lawndale Baptist Church, 6433 Lawndale Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111 on Saturday, March 2, 2019 for a viewing from 9:00 A.M. and funeral service at 10:00 A.M. His graveside service followed at Hillside Cemetery, 2556 Susquehanna Road, Roslyn, PA 19001.
Religious services were conducted by Rev. Robert Ramsay, former pastor of Lawndale Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Lawndale Baptist Church, 6433 Lawndale Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
