Margaret Helen "Marge" Hipwell of Rockledge, Pennsylvania died Friday, February 22, 2019 at Jeanes Hospital. She was 92 years old. Marge was born June 24, 1926 in Ambler, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Wasyl Krause and the late Anastasia Krause. She is the beloved wife of the late Samuel T. Hipwell; mother of Samuel, Jr., Dean and his wife Lynne, Jeffrey and his wife Darlene, John, Douglas, and Cynthia Hipwell; grandmother of Gary, Amanda and her husband Dr. Chase Clanton, Melissa, Brian, Chelsea, Thomas and Chloe Hipwell; great-grandmother of Bradley Clanton.

Marge was born and raised in Ambler, Pennsylvania; however, she has been a longtime and beloved resident of Rockledge for a large portion of her life. Ever the social butterfly, she seemingly had a hand or some involvement in every facet of Rockledge or Fox Chase. Whether it was involvement with the Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, the town’s annual Fourth of July Parade, the PTA, singing in the choir and attending church functions at Fox Chase United Methodist Church, or singing her heart out in Sweet Adeline competitions, Marge could be found right in the middle of the activity. In her free time, she also worked with Avon and made many more friends among colleagues and customers alike. She was also an avid reader, photographer and had a love of local history. Marge will be sorely missed by all that had the pleasure to know her.

Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Her graveside service followed at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Fox Chase United Methodist Church, 201 Loney Street, Philadelphia, PA 19111.

Family flowers arranged by Schmidt’s Florist 215-745-6234.
