Marilyn Mae Haug of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Hospital Hospice. She was 79 years old. Marilyn was born April 18, 1939 in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Marlin Lawrence Hess and the late Sarah Eliza Hess (nee - Jones). She is the beloved wife of Fred W. Haug Sr.; mother of Fred Haug Jr. and his wife Gayle, David Haug and his wife Catherine, and Mark Haug; grandmother of Zakk, Katharine, Caitlin, and David Jr.; great grandmother of Timothy Jr. and Colton; sister of Donald Hess.

Marilyn was educated in Philadelphia and attended Olney High School where she met Fred Haug. The two were married October 14, 1962. Marilyn worked for several years for Bell Telephone and Nabisco before staying at home to raise her boys. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, and arts and crafts. She will be missed for her beloved annual Easter Egg Hunt.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 9:30 A.M. and funeral service at 10:30 A.M. at Gloria Dei Church, 570 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Her graveside service was private.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Ronald Wesemann.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
