Edward R. Drake of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Jefferson Health Hospice at Warminster. He was 81 years old. Edward was born June 20, 1937 in Abington, Pennsylvania, son of the late William Drake and the late Esther Drake (nee - Ebinger). He is the beloved husband of Elica (nee Wood) Drake; father of the late Edward R. Drake and his wife Stacy, Karen Brady and her husband Gerry, Linda Palmer and her husband Bradley; grandfather of Ethan and Seth Drake, Brenna and Ryan Brady, Noah and Grace Palmer; brother of William Drake and his wife Carol, Marilyn Histand and her husband the late Samuel, the late Robert and his wife Katherine, and the late Peter Drake.
Edward was born, raised, and educated in Abington, Pennsylvania. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army after serving his country in the Vietnam War as a rifle sharpshooter. Edward was a longtime member of the Vereinigung Erzgebirge, the American Legion, the Disabled Veterans of America, and longtime Democratic poll worker.
Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. and funeral service with military honors rendered by the United States Army at 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
