Victor P. Mitura of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Hospital Hospice. He was 76 years old. Victor was born December 25, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Victor Joseph Mitura and the late Effie Mitura (nee - McQuaid). He is the beloved father of Joe Mitura and his wife Karen, Diane Mitura, David Mitura and his wife Katie, Maggie Fairall and her husband Phil, Andy Mitura and his wife Mary, and Gayle Mitura; grandfather of Chad and Ryan Mitura and Claire and June Mitura; brother of Marian Niemikiewicz and her husband Tom.
Victor was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and furthered his education at LaSalle University with a BS in Physics. Victor served honorably in the United States Army and continued to work for the government for 30+ years at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. He enjoyed traveling whether for work to Spain, or to visit family in Florida or an excursion to Canada. Victor was an avid Phillies fan and loved to bowl. He was also a proud member of the American Legion.
Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090. A private committal took place at Edgewood Memorial Park in Glen Mills, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Artis Senior Living, 2085 Lieberman Drive, Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006.
