Arthur David Schwartz of Horsham, Pennsylvania died Sunday, December 1, 2019 at The Landing at Willow Grove. He was 70 years old. Arthur was born January 5, 1949 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Ashton T. Schwartz and the late Marion E. Schwartz (nee - Firth). He is the beloved husband of 49 years of Wanda (nee Goins) Schwartz; loving father of Constance Smeland and her husband Jason and Pamela Houseman and her husband Richard; a proud Poppop, he dearly loved and prayed for daily his nine grandchildren: Nathan, Cole, Luke, AvaGrace, Bella, Molly, Ricky, Genevieve, and James. Art is also survived by his brother Robert and sisters Sandra and Evelyn.

Growing up in Philadelphia, Art enjoyed sports and nature. As a teen he was actively involved with Boys Brigade and had fond memories of his camping experiences. He also participated in Christian Endeavor where he met Wanda at a retreat. Art served with the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Guadalcanal where he managed the ship store. A highlight of his Navy days was when his ship was the recovery vessel for the Apollo 9 space flight. Post military, Art attended Cairn University where he received a degree in Christian Education. Art worked in mechanical machine design and later switched to insurance service and sales for several State Farm agents. Art's greatest joys in life were being with his family, and serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was always active in a local church fellowship.
