Gerald "Jerry" Schumaker of Harleysville, Pennsylvania died Thursday, July 4, 2019 at his home. He was 90 years old. Jerry was born June 23, 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is the beloved husband of Claire; father of Jerry Schumaker and his wife Cathy, Joseph Schumaker and his wife Cindy, and David Schumaker and his wife Sandy; grandfather of five; great grandfather of 12; and the great great grandfather of one.

Jerry grew up in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia. He was a truck driver for many years. He married Claire on June 30th 1979 at Tabor Lutheran Church. The two resided on Fillmore Street in the Fox Chase section of the city for many years before moving to Harleysville, PA. Jerry loved the outdoors and many activities he could pursue in it including hunting, fishing, and golf. He also enjoyed bowling and playing pool in his free time.

Relatives and friends were invited to his graveside service with military honors rendered by the United States Army on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at 9:00 A.M. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

Religious services were conducted by Reverend Rebecca Schanely from St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3104 Main Street, Green Lane, PA 18054.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Fox Chase Cancer Center, IA Department, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
