Natalija Šašić of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Fox Chase Cancer Center. She was 79 years old. Natalija was born November 17, 1939 in Vladimirovac, Serbia, daughter of the late Nikola Iglendza and the late Draginja Iglendza (nee - Zagorac). She is the beloved mother of Dušica Trifunovic and her husband Miško; grandmother of Brane and Bogi Trifunovic; sister of the late Bosa, the late Milka, and the late Ljuba.
Natalija was born, raised and educated in Serbia. She emigrated with her daughter in 1971, seeking a better life in America. The family settled in Philadelphia. During her life, Natalija was a loving mother, doting grandmother, and was even able to keep her family connections close by visiting her siblings and extended family in Serbia when the opportunities arose for the family to vacation there. In her free time, she was an avid gardener and adored her vacations spent with her family at the beach.
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046. Relatives and friends were also invited to her graveside service on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Fox Chase Cancer Center, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111.
