Loretta T. Betchker passed away peacefully July 22, 2019, at her home. She was 80 years old. 

She was born in Mahanoy City, Pa., daughter of John and Mary Wasilewski (nee-Dulsky) and spent most of her life in the Lower Bucks area. She married John Betchker in 1957, also of Mahanoy City.  They were married for 28 years until his passing in 1986.

Surviving are her two daughters and one son, Deborah Malloy and husband John of Fairless Hills, Pa., John M. Betchker, Jr. and his wife Patricia Prewitt of Quakertown, Pa, and Joanne Tressa and her husband David of Hanover Twp., Pa. She is also survived by six grandchildren, including  Sherilyn Hale and husband Doug of Hampstead, Md., John Malloy and his fiancee Kasey Barnes of Fredericksburg, Va., Dr. Brian Malloy and his fiancee Dr. Kayla Beardsley of Fairless Hills, Pa., A.J. Zuidervliet of Orlando, FL, Andrew Tressa and Autumn Rose Tressa of Hanover Twp., Pa,. two great-grandchildren, Dustin Hale and Alyanna Tressa; and many nieces and nephews. 
She is the sister of Theresa Thompson and her husband the late Oliver, Lucille Szwech and her husband the late Thomas, the late John Wasilewski and his wife Joan, and the late Marie Clark and her husband the late Charles.

Loretta was raised, and educated in Mahanoy City. She was a 1957 graduate of Mahanoy City High School. She and John Betchker lived across the street from each other and were high school sweethearts. They married on October 27, 1957 in Vienna, Md. Loretta worked for Heinemann Electric Company in Trenton, NJ, Thiokol Chemical Corporation and Morton Thiokol, in the accounting departments. She later went to work in food service for Mettler Corporation. After the passing of her husband, Loretta went back to work at Sam's Club as a food demonstrator. Loretta enjoyed 30 years of vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, DE. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and Parx Casino.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation ‪on Friday, July 26, 2019 from 6:00 P.M. A short memorial service ‪followed at 8:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, ‪501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Rosenfeld Cancer Center Abington Hospital - Jefferson Health, ‪1200 York Road, Abington, PA 19001.
