Barbara J. Abel of Warminster, Pennsylvania died Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Abington Hospital Jefferson Health.  She was 80 years old.  Barbara was born November 9, 1938 in Pleasantville, New Jersey, daughter of the late William Edgar Stevenson and the late Helen Grace Price (nee - Conover).  She is the beloved wife of Larry Nattress and the late Francis James Abel; loving mother of Valerie P. Hughes, Francis W. Abel and his wife Cynthia, Robert T. Abel and his wife Vicki, Veronica S. Abel, Patricia Kellar, and Pamela Jane Gibat. Adored grandmother of 9; great grandmother of 10; sister of the late Ronald Stevenson and his wife Jane, the late Daniel Lee Greene, Virginia Tuohy and her husband Tom and Josephine Reese, with many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews.
 
Barbara was born, raised, and educated in New Jersey. She was a graduate of Absecon High School. Barbara was very involved in her family genealogy, assisting others on the way to search out their family history and set up reunions. She was past trustee of the Lake Family Association, settlers of Ocean City, NJ and a current trustee and Genealogist for the Van Kouwenhoven - Conover Family Association settlers of Atlantic City and New Amsterdam (New York City). After her first husband’s death in 2006, Barbara started socializing and dancing at the VFW on Friday nights, getting exercise and meeting new people. It is here, she met Larry Nattress. Barbara’s greatest joy was spending time with her growing family.
 
Relatives and friends were invited to her viewing on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.  Her graveside service followed at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002.
 
Religious services were conducted by Pastor Chad Braley from Faith Baptist Church, 1515 Wistar Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030.
 
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to American Diabetes Association, 150 Monument Road Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
