Horst W. Schulz of Quakertown, Pennsylvania died Monday, August 26, 2019 at his home. He was 77 years old. Horst was born December 25, 1941 in Gawarzec, Germany, son of the late Reinhold Schulz and the late Pauline Schulz (nee - Rüdiger). He is the beloved husband of Anna (nee Szentjobi) Schulz; father of Pauline Theresa Schulz-Robb and her husband Eric and Christina Katherina Pritchard and her husband Kenneth; grandfather of Tyler Samuel Schulz-Robb, Helena Gabrielle Pritchard, and Christian William Pritchard; brother of Emma Neubauer and her husband the late Karl and the late Irene Heise and her husband Siegmund.  He is also survived by 3 nieces who still reside in Lilienthal, Germany.

Horst was born in Gawarzec, Germany on Christmas day.  At the age of 3, Horst and his family fled to north Germany and lived there until the age of 10.  He emigrated to the United States in 1950 where he was raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and educated at Dobbins Vocational High School where he learned his trade as a tool and die maker.  Horst was later drafted to the United States Army where he served honorably until his discharge as a Private First Class.

Horst and Anna met at church as teenagers and were married on October 21, 1967 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They raised their daughters in Holland, Pennsylvania. Horst was an entrepreneur and was owner operator of Arch Specialties Company Incorporated for over 40 years.  After retirement Horst enjoyed woodworking, making home improvements, travelling to his vacation home on the eastern shore of the Chesapeake Bay and spending time with his grandchildren.  

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Saturday, August 31, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. and funeral service at 11:00 A.M. and military honors rendered by the United States Army followed at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. Owen Griffiths.
