Robert Eppinger of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died Saturday, September 21, 2019 at Holy Redeemer Hospital Hospice. He was 87 years old. Robert was born September 11, 1932 in Ali-Anife Kalfe, Romania, son of the late Johann Eppinger and the late Kunigunde Eppinger (nee - Zerr). He is the beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Eppinger (nee - Logan); father of Robert and his wife Karen, Michael and his wife Michelle, and Stephen; and loving grandfather of Stevie, Destiny, Amber, Robby, and Michael Thomas. He is survived by his siblings Anton, Tillie and Pauline. He was preceded in death by his brothers Nicholas and Clement.

Robert and his family spent the years during World War II moving around Europe, trying to stay away from the fighting. After the war, his family lived in Germany and Austria. He emigrated from Germany in 1952 and settled in Philadelphia. He worked at Kelsey-Hayes as a forklift operator and retired after 40 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing pinochle, and dancing. Religion was an important part of Robert’s life. He would watch the televised Mass every day and was always happy to learn something new from the homily. Robert was a lifelong member of the Bayerischer Volksfest Verein.
