Gloria C. Bressi of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at her home where she was surrounded by her family. She was 87 years old. Gloria was born July 11, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Allen Fink and the late Eleanor Fink (nee - Petz). She is the beloved wife of the late Peter Bressi; mother of Lisa Auletta and her husband Vincent, Karen Campanaro and her husband John, and the late Steven Bressi and his companion Walter; grandmother of Jason Auletta and his wife Brittany, Kirstin Simmons and her husband Mark, Alexandra Nodiff and her husband Matt, Stephanie Campanaro and her fiance David Mockus, Kelsey Auletta and her fiance John Higgins, Ryan Auletta, and Isabelle and Francesca Campanaro; great grandmother of Paige and Graham Simmons, Luca Nodiff, and Cameron Auletta; sister of Joan Metrules and her late husband Jack, the late Florence Masi, and the late Carol Watson and her late husband Donald; sister-in-law of Anna Bressi, Dora Crawford and her husband Edward, Frank Bressi, Jr., the late Vincent Bressi and his late wife Marion, the late Nicholas Bressi and his wife Mary, and the late Rose Shannon and her late husband Lester.
Gloria was born, raised, and educated in South Philadelphia where she was a graduate of South Philadelphia High School. She has been a 57 year resident of the Lawndale section of Philadelphia where she and her husband Peter raised their family. Gloria became president of Peter Roberts Enterprises, a real estate development company, on the death of her husband in 1998. She has been a longtime member of the Trinity Church, Oxford Episcopal Church. Gloria was adored by her family and her fierce love and undeniable spunk will forever keep her memory alive. “There is only one happiness in this life, to love and be loved.”
Relatives and friends were invited to her visitation on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. and to her funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Trinity Church, Oxford Episcopal Church, 601 Longshore Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111. Her graveside service followed at Sunset Memorial Park, 333 West County Line Road, Feasterville, PA 19053.
Religious services were conducted by The Rev. Donald Graff rector of Trinity Church, Oxford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Peter Bressi Senior Center, 4744 Frankford Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19124.
