Paul M. Panikowski of Willow Grove, Pennsylvania died Thursday, October 31, 2019 at his home. He was 72 years old.

The following was composed by Paul for his father:

“My Dad was born on Sunday February 2nd 1947 to John and Sophie Panikowski in Philadelphia, PA. was one of seven children, his siblings were Lorraine, Patrick, Barbara, John, Christine, and David. My Dad grew up in South Phila on Wharton Street and attended Secred Heart Catholic School. He was a bookbinder and worked for National Publishing Company for 49 years. My Dad was very mechanically inclined and could fix almost anything. l witnessed first hand him taking things apart, put them back together, have extra parts left over and the Bang thing worked better than new.

He met my Mom (Irene) at a wedding for mutual friends. My Mom was a bridesmaid and my Dad was a groomsman. They were married in 1971. My Mom was my Dad's whole life, he loved her more than life itself. He would do anything for my Mom. When my Mom passed away in 2016 he was devastated, I truly believe when she passed, a piece of my Dad went with her.

My Dad enjoyed going to the casinos, it relaxed him. He would go to Parx Casino at least 2-3 times a month and spend the entire day there. I can't stress this point enough, he loved eating steak sandwiches! if my Mom allowed him he would haves had them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner 7 days a week. The other thing was Ice Cream, the freezer was always full with at least 6 half gallons of Bryers.

My Dad was a great father, I never wanted for anything. He enjoyed going on vacations with me. A memorable one was after my Mom passed away to cheer him up I took him on a cruise with my friends, he had a great time, especially playing the games where, to pay, you would just swipe your card... My friends called it Swipeapalooza (6 full pages of swipes) and is still a running joke till today.

I will always remember the good times with my Dad. I know he is with my Mom in Heaven, the two of them are together again. I will always love you Dad.”

Relatives and friends were invited to his viewing on Thursday, November 7, 2019 from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 501 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
