Maryanne was raised and educated in the Fox Chase section of Philadelphia where she graduated from Frankford High School. Not long after graduation she married George Rocket Jr. In 1969, Maryanne and George left Philadelphia for Big Pine Key, Florida.  There they built a successful well known dive shop, Underseas, Inc. which flourished for almost fifty years. She returned to Philadelphia in October 2014.

Maryanne loved the ocean and diving. Her Catholic faith was unwavering and she was devoted to her family, especially her grandsons.
