Anthony J. Dota of Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania died Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Holy Redeemer Hospital. He was 96 years old. Anthony was born May 13, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Antonio Dota and the late Carmela Dota (nee - Russo). He is the beloved husband of 61 years of the late Caroline M. (nee Faione) Dota; father of Barbara Rice and her husband William Rice, Jr., Nancy Pollock and her husband James and Tisha Buck and her husband Kenneth; grandfather of Rudy Wojtkowski, Katina Kushner, James Pollock, Jr. and his wife Jaimie, Danielle Pollock, Dennis James, Jr., Anthony James, Mandi D’Elia and her husband Marc, and the late Emily Rice great grandfather of Anthony James Jr. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
Anthony was born, raised, and educated in Philadelphia. He met Dolly at a luncheonette on Broad Street in Philadelphia. They were married in January of 1947 at St. Rita’s Parish. He served honorably during WWII in the US Army. He was a typesetter for many years at Typographic Service at 3rd and Arch Streets in Philadelphia. He retired at age 70. Anthony loved to watch Philadelphia sports and root on the home teams. He was very generous and took pride in taking care of everyone he cared about.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, services were private.
