Patrick White tragically passed on September 23, 2021 while on his daily early morning bicycle ride. According to the Bicycle Coalition, he is the sixth bicyclist killed in Philadelphia this year.

Pat was the son of the late Edward L. White and the late Estella A. White (nee Turner). He was the beloved husband of Lori, father of Amy, Julie and her fiancé Sam, brother of Edward, Larry, Estella and her husband James, James and his late wife Carol, Margaret and her husband William, and niece and nephews.

Pat was born and raised in Philadelphia  He graduated LaSalle College High School, class of 1969, Indiana University of Pennsylvania with BA and MA degrees, and Pennsylvania Straight Chiropractic as a doctor of chiropractic.

In the music room at LaSalle College High School, Pat spent most of his time listening to music and introducing his choices to his classmates. He always loved music and playing the bass in rock bands. In college he started playing ice hockey. He never stopped. Of course, he was on the roster to play the night after his death. Age didn’t mean anything to Pat. In the early 2000s, Pat played (and later refereed) with the local Australian Rules Football club, then named the Philly Crows. As always, he committed his time and effort and served as President of the team for a period of time.

Pat really found his calling as a chiropractor. As a chiropractor, he was able to do what he loved and formed many long-time friendships. Nothing made him feel better than to help his patients, mind, body, and soul.

Pat rode his bicycle every morning for over 30 years, and for the past 13 years he participated in multiple rides for charities. On Sunday the 19th, he rode his last charity ride to the Jersey Shore. Riding his bicycle was a perfect way to start his day, and he resumed his rides as soon as he was healthy enough in his recovery from cancer.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Wetzel and Son Funeral Home, 419 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
Due to concerns about social gathering, the family will request masks be worn and they will not be receiving all attendees, please feel free to come in and pay your respects and share your memories via this site or Pat’s facebook page.

In lieu of flowers please consider memorials to societies for the conservation of nature or to cancer societies.
