Steven R. Henze of New Britain, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at his home. He was 58 years old. Steven was born September 10, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, son of the late Paul H. Henze and the late Rose Marie Henze (nee - Liefholt). He is the beloved husband of 30 years of Lisa Henze (nee-Boesler), father of Lexi Thompson (Darren), Matthew Henze (Natalie) and Jakob Henze (LeAnne); GPop of Sydnee, Zoee and Maverrick Thompson, brother of David Henze and his wife Diane, son-in-law of Art Boesler and his wife the late Donna; brother-in-law of Eric Boesler and his wife Theresa, Lori Carroll and her husband Kevin, Susan Boesler Lee and her husband Ron, and the late Robert Boesler; uncle of Erik, Douglas, Lucas, Carly, Emily, Flynn, Isaiah, Ryan and Naomi.

Steve was raised in the Ardsley section of Abington Township. He was a 1981 graduate of Abington High School, and a 4 year varsity letterman in football. He was also a 4 year letterman in lacrosse and a member of the PA State Champions in 1981. He went on to attend Shippensburg University and played defensive end for the football team. He graduated in 1985 with a Bachelors in Criminal Justice.

Steve started working in law enforcement at the Willow Grove Park Mall where he met co-worker Donna Boesler. Donna introduced him to her daughter Lisa. Lisa and Steve married on January 31, 1992 at Upper Dublin Lutheran Church. Steve was able to move on in his career in his hometown as an Abington Township Patrol Officer for more than a decade before being assigned to the Detective Division. Steve also served as a Field Training Officer, a firearms instructor and as a member of the Abington Tactical Unit for 20 years.

Steve loved the game of lacrosse and coached his son from township level through high school. He was a lacrosse coach for 5 years at Central Bucks South High School and later at Archbishop Wood High School. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, golf, music and being anywhere he could see a palm tree. Steve also enjoyed cigars and bourbon with family and friends and secretly loved video games. He will be missed for his great sense of humor and his unending love for his family.

Relatives and friends were invited to his visitation on Friday, May 20, 2022 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. and celebration of life at 11:00 A.M. at Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, 411 Susquehanna Road, Ambler, PA 19002.

Religious services were conducted by Rev. George Detweiler, pastor of Upper Dublin Lutheran Church.
